Delete your Storykept account

Delete your account in the app

1. Sign in to Storykept.
2. Open You, then choose Privacy & data.
3. Choose Delete account.
4. Type your account email address and confirm the deletion request.

Deletion is scheduled for 30 days later. If you sign in during that grace period, you can restore the account or choose to delete it immediately.

If you cannot sign in

Email privacy@storykept.app from the address used for your Storykept account. Use the subject “Delete my Storykept account.” We may ask you to verify ownership before acting on the request.

Data that is deleted

• Your Storykept account, profile, sign-in link, preferences, and consent records.
• Stories in your private space and circles only you own, including recordings, transcripts, edited versions, story details, and associated photos.
• Your private invitations, recording links, notifications, and generated exports.

Data that may be retained

• Stories and contributions in a shared family circle remain with that circle so other members do not lose their family history. Your name is removed. Delete those contributions first, or email us, if you want your voice and words removed entirely.
• Limited purchase, tax, accounting, and legal-claim records are retained only for the period required by law. Payment providers may retain their own required records.
• Restricted disaster-recovery copies expire on their normal schedule: database backups may remain for up to 12 months and deleted or replaced media for up to 90 days. They are used only for recovery, and deletion requests are re-applied after a restore.
